Security Control Assessor (Federal Health)

TL;DR

Security Control Assessor (Federal Health): Supporting cybersecurity assessment and authorization activities for large-scale federal healthcare modernization initiatives with an accent on evaluating security controls and ensuring compliance throughout the system development lifecycle. Focus on collaborating with ISSOs and engineering teams to document findings, track remediation, and maintain security artifacts for enterprise systems.

Location: Must be based in the United States (Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance is required).

What you will do

• Support security control assessment activities across the entire system development lifecycle.
• Evaluate technical, operational, and management security controls for federal compliance.
• Prepare and review security assessment documentation and artifacts.
• Document assessment findings and track remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with ISSOs, engineers, and government stakeholders to resolve security issues.
• Support continuous monitoring and validation of corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or security engineering.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Level 3 Public Trust clearance.
• Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity requirements and assessment processes.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT environments.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations.
• Background in health IT or telehealth programs.
• Experience with Federal program management.
