Security Control Assessor / ISSE Support (Federal Health)

What you will do

• Support security control assessment and authorization activities throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Evaluate technical, operational, and management controls against established federal security requirements.
• Prepare and review security assessment documentation, findings, records, and security artifacts.
• Track remediation activities, review evidence, and validate corrective-action implementation during continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate with ISSOs, engineering teams, project teams, and Government stakeholders to resolve findings and support compliance.
• Participate in security meetings, technical reviews, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity assessment processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, system security engineering, or security assessment activities.
• Experience supporting security assessments, compliance reviews, or security engineering in enterprise IT environments.
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity requirements and security control assessment processes.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; Level 3 Public Trust is required if assigned to GovCloud, GAL, or VA OIT.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other federal healthcare organizations.
• Experience with health IT, telehealth, or federal program management.
