Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 1–2 days per week at the San Antonio, TX office. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $112,075–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Create, review, and edit authorization documentation in accordance with federal and DoD policy.
• Implement DoD system accreditation processes and provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management support.
• Assess operational risks of integrated open-source, GOTS, and COTS software components.
• Use vulnerability management systems, automated security scanning tools, and system accreditation record systems.
• Interpret and apply DISA STIGs and SRGs, establish defensible security processes, and manage security requirements.
• Recommend system-level solutions, support trusted relationships between external systems and architectures, and collaborate with development teams and diverse stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• 9+ years of ISSE experience on large multi-tiered programs with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 7 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
• Experience implementing DoD system accreditation processes; DIACAP is acceptable and RMF is preferred.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and services, computer architectures, and network topologies.
• Understanding of control inheritance and artifact generation using NIST SP 800-53.
• DoD 8140 compliance with IAT Level II certification, including SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC.
• Experience with DISA STIGs and SRGs, vulnerability management, mitigation and compliance processes, and automated security scanning results.
• Hands-on experience navigating workflows, uploading artifacts, and managing POA&Ms in eMASS, Xacta, or an equivalent RMF system of record.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, learn new concepts, facilitate information exchanges, and interact effectively with others.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment at the San Antonio office and adapt to schedule changes.
