Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 1–2 days per week at the San Antonio, Texas office

Salary: $112,075–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design system and network architectures spanning multiple enclaves with different data protection and classification requirements.
• Create, review, and edit authorization documentation in accordance with federal and DoD policies.
• Implement DoD system accreditation processes, with a focus on the Risk Management Framework.
• Assess operational risks of open-source, GOTS, and COTS software components.
• Use vulnerability management, automated security scanning, and accreditation record systems.
• Provide security planning, risk analysis, risk management, and system-level guidance to development teams.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.
• 9+ years of ISSE experience with large multi-tiered programs and a related bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience and education combinations.
• Experience implementing DoD accreditation processes; DIACAP experience is acceptable and RMF experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and services, computer architectures, and network topologies.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 control inheritance and artifact generation.
• DoD 8140 compliance with IAT Level II certification, such as SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC, plus experience with DISA STIGs, SRGs, vulnerability management, and eMASS/Xacta or equivalent RMF systems.

Nice to have

• CISSP-ISSEP certification.
• BASH, Kubernetes, Visio or draw.io, RHEL, and AWS Cloud experience.
