What you will do

• Set the architectural direction for large-scale models spanning wearable sensors, text, and biomarkers.
• Identify and drive high-risk research bets in self-supervised and representation learning to production.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to connect technical breakthroughs to business outcomes.
• Shape the platform, compute, and infrastructure strategy for the AI team.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers while strengthening evaluation and design-review norms.
• Represent technical work externally to support recruiting and community visibility.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant field with extensive research experience.
• Proven track record of owning technical direction and making high-impact architectural decisions.
• Deep expertise in modern deep learning, including transformers, multimodal training, and RL-based post-training.
• Experience with large-scale distributed training (data, model, and context parallelism).
• Ability to influence senior leadership and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Boston, MA.
