What you will do

• Lead the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions across multiple teams.
• Act as a technical authority for front-end architecture, defining and driving the overall engineering strategy.
• Represent engineering in architecture boards and technical governance forums.
• Embed AI-driven engineering practices to leverage AI effectively throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor and coach engineers through technical leadership and collaboration.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data leaders to influence technical direction and product roadmaps.

Requirements

• Proven experience at Staff, Principal, or Lead Engineer level with a track record of delivering complex software at scale.
• Expert-level React and TypeScript skills, including experience with design systems.
• Experience applying AI in software development, including prompt engineering and AI service integration.
• Strong influencing and mentoring skills, leading through technical excellence rather than line management.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid (40% office) in Nottingham, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience in component libraries, accessibility, and performance optimization.
• Expertise in A/B testing, personalization, feature flagging, or recommendation systems.
