Frontend Technical Lead (React)

TL;DR

Frontend Technical Lead (React): Lead a team of engineers in designing and developing client-side components for hirify.global’s TV platforms and digital journeys, including integrations with streaming services like Disney+ and HBO. Focus on shaping technical direction, championing quality assurance, performance, reliability, scalability, and mentoring engineers from associate to senior levels.

Location: Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office at Livingston (Watermark), UK. Right to work in the UK required, no sponsorship offered.

What you will do

• Act as technical lead for a cross-functional agile team, providing leadership in software design and development.
• Deep dive into components and features across technology stacks as a top-notch coder and domain expert.
• Drive significant technology initiatives from inception to deployment and shape technical direction, tools, and processes.
• Champion quality assurance, best practices, performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Coach and mentor engineers from associate to senior levels to help them develop and thrive.
• Collaborate with design, solution architects, principal engineers, and other tech leads for guidance and estimates.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Extensive client-side JavaScript with strong React knowledge.
• Excellent HTML & CSS skills.
• Practical GraphQL and TypeScript experience.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing).
• CI pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), unit testing (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Proven leadership of engineering teams/squads in Agile/Scrum.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Tailwind CSS experience.
• Hands-on work across incidents, defects, spikes, prototyping, and proof-of-concepts.
• Leading small to medium-sized squads.
• Coaching and mentoring engineers.
• Cross-functional collaboration (architecture, DevOps, data, product, delivery).
