Senior Frontend Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Frontend Engineer (React/Next.js): Developing high-performance web experiences for customer acquisition and internal tools with an accent on technical SEO and Core Web Vitals. Focus on building reusable platform capabilities, optimizing organic growth through A/B testing, and enhancing frontend architecture scalability.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in London and attend the office 2-3 days a week. Option to work from abroad for up to 120 days a year (subject to right to work).

What you will do

• Build and evolve customer-facing and internal web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• Drive architecture decisions, build reusable components, and contribute to the long-term technical strategy.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing to deliver intuitive and high-performing user experiences.
• Optimize technical SEO and Core Web Vitals using product insights and A/B testing for organic growth.
• Improve platform reliability through observability, monitoring, and CI/CD engineering best practices.
• Mentor other engineers via code reviews and technical guidance to raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Deep knowledge of technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and modern rendering strategies (SSR, semantic HTML).
• Proven ability to implement web performance best practices and accessibility standards.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional growth and marketing teams.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL and observability tools such as Honeycomb or Grafana.
• Background in regulated industries or fintech environments.
• Experience contributing to shared engineering enablement or platform teams.
