What you will do

• Refine and implement game concepts from the backlog for the Skunk Works prototyping team.
• Develop and maintain the stability of gameplay features using Unreal Engine 5.
• Own the 3Cs (character, controls, camera) feel for all prototypes.
• Collaborate with artists on rigging, state trees, and BP implementations.
• Identify and develop key features required to deliver the promise of each prototype concept.

Requirements

• 10+ years of games industry experience with at least 3 shipped titles in Unreal.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 Blueprints.
• Experience designing for mouse/keyboard and controller interfaces.
• Ability to balance prototype speed with performance.
• Strong communication skills for a remote-first environment.

Nice to have

• Practical C++ experience.
• Background in world or level design.
• Experience with dynamic lighting and scripted cinematic sequences.
• Unreal 5 UI widget design skills.
• Familiarity with the Poppy Playtime universe.
