What you will do

• Design innovative playable characters with unique gameplay mechanics, combat styles, weapons, and abilities.
• Develop character gameplay features from initial concept through prototyping, implementation, balancing, and release.
• Collaborate with gameplay programmers, animators, and cross-functional teams to deliver engaging combat experiences.
• Refine combat mechanics by leveraging gameplay metrics, player feedback, and data-driven insights.
• Balance character strengths, weaknesses, and counterplay to ensure competitive gameplay.
• Prototype gameplay systems and iterate on designs to improve overall game quality.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Character or Gameplay Designer with a track record of shipping multiple titles.
• Strong passion for and familiarity with third-person action and combat gameplay.
• Proven ability to design compelling characters with distinctive gameplay identities.
• Deep understanding of combat design principles, including balance and counterplay.
• Practical experience using Unreal Engine 5 Blueprints to implement gameplay abilities.
• Must be based in Germany.
