What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models to solve complex credit risk problems.
• Partner with cross-functional business leaders and technical experts to improve modeling methodology and data sources.
• Manage and grow a high-performing data science team by identifying strengths and providing clear goals and training.
• Oversee the lifecycle of experiments and models in production systems.
• Communicate a clear technical vision for applying data science to practical business challenges.
• Ensure sound risk management practices are integrated into all modeling efforts.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• PhD in a quantitative field with 5+ years of leadership experience OR BS/MS with 8+ years of leadership experience.
• Proven experience applying data science to credit risk management.
• Strong background in software engineering fundamentals including test-driven development and code review.
• Proficiency with the PyData stack (numpy, scikit-learn, pandas).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both practitioners and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience solving problems in consumer lending or fintech.
• Interest in advancing credit underwriting through causal inference and neural networks.
