What you will do

• Own the design, implementation, and debugging of ML/AI-driven features, focusing on LLM-powered NPC dialogue.
• Finetune, evaluate, and optimize models balancing quality against latency, memory, and cost.
• Architect and maintain inference systems and data pipelines for game engine integration.
• Contribute to gameplay features and general game code in a hands-on capacity.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and provide technical direction to raise the team's technical bar.
• Partner with artists and game designers to shape and align AI features across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Professional experience building and shipping ML/AI systems, including production deployment and finetuning.
• Must be based in California.
• Experience deploying models for low-latency, real-time inference.
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers or leading technical direction.
• Strong communication skills across different disciplines.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of video game development and product delivery experience.
• C++ and Unreal Engine experience.
• Familiarity with 3D graphics, shaders, or GPU programming.
• Passion for narrative games.
