Software Engineer, Cloud/Backend (Cybersecurity)

Software Engineer, Cloud/Backend (Go/Python): Building and evolving cloud-side software and user interfaces for configuration distribution to millions of endpoints with an accent on scalability, reliability, and high-quality system design. Focus on implementing performant solutions in Go, optimizing distributed systems, and utilizing AI to accelerate engineering processes.

Location: Hybrid (Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA) - Must be based in the USA; expectation of being in the office twice a week.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and evolve cloud-based systems to manage and distribute configuration information to millions of endpoints.
• Design and implement elegant, performant solutions for complex technical problems primarily using Go.
• Collaborate with cloud, front-end, and endpoint developers to brainstorm and build scalable systems.
• Read, critique, and provide feedback on code across multiple languages (Go, Python, Typescript, C++).
• Integrate AI technologies to streamline workflows, accelerate execution, and improve efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production outages and implement quality improvements.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance (requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status).
• 3+ years of experience building and scaling production back-end systems.
• Strong computer science foundation in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and experience with Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, or ElasticSearch.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS or Azure) and deploying into Linux containers.
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making and drive business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience managing configuration automation for large endpoint fleets (e.g., JAMF Pro, Microsoft Configuration Manager).
• Experience building and scaling low-latency internet services.
• Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Prior exposure to the cybersecurity and intelligence domain.
