Salary: $112,924 – $122,187 per year

What you will do

• Design graphical user interfaces compliant with military standards (MIL-STD-1472) to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Create low- to high-fidelity wireframes and clickable prototypes using tools like Axure RP, Figma, and Sketch.
• Collaborate with software developers and systems engineers to iterate designs based on usability principles.
• Conduct user research, interview subject matter experts, and develop personas and journey maps.
• Defend design decisions using research-based rationale in stakeholder presentations.
• Produce development-ready icons and graphics for final implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in a related field.
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
• Expertise in interaction design, usability principles, and design systems.
• Proficiency with Figma, Axure RP, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator/Photoshop).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and ability to solve complex challenges.
• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working with defense contractors or U.S. Navy programs.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate prototyping and conduct contextual research.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for web, mobile, or desktop applications.
• Experience operating within an Agile development environment.
• Freehand sketching skills for rapid ideation.
