What you will do

• Design and maintain highly available Azure networking solutions including ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, and Private Link.
• Develop advanced observability and monitoring strategies using KQL, Azure Workbooks, and Azure Connection Monitor.
• Modernize network security architecture by implementing Azure Firewall Premium and enhancing micro-segmentation.
• Drive infrastructure automation by integrating Infrastructure as Code and exploring AI-driven Infrastructure as Prompt approaches.
• Establish governance guardrails and enterprise standards for decentralized network management.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate Microsoft Sentinel and Defender for proactive threat detection and response.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Azure networking including Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, BGP, and Hub & Spoke architectures.
• Experience with cloud observability tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, KQL, and Azure Monitor.
• Ability to travel to Cologne for occasional anchor days as required by the remote contract.
• Passion for challenging existing architectures and exploring innovative technologies like AI-assisted infrastructure management.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into architectural recommendations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking.
• Knowledge of Sophos Firewall and enterprise on-premises networking.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Logic Apps, or Azure Functions.
