Salary: $153,000 – $214,000 USD / $144,000 – $202,000 CAD

What you will do

• Develop and extend Agent Hooks across various IDEs to build high-value in-IDE functionality.
• Own architectural decisions for integrations and public repositories to ensure scalability, security, and alignment with authentication models.
• Lead the execution of the team's roadmap by identifying technical opportunities and risks up to 6 months in advance.
• Maintain community-facing repositories, engaging with external contributors and upholding a high quality bar.
• Collaborate with Partnerships, Product, UX, and SDK/CLI teams to translate requirements into actionable technical work.
• Drive initiatives to improve the developer experience and mitigate issues faced by hirify.global customers.

Requirements

• Significant professional software development experience with a track record of delivering medium-to-large projects end-to-end.
• Advanced command of modern toolchains, including Git, IDEs, terminal, and debugging/testing tools.
• Experience designing extensible systems, specifically developer tooling, IDE extensions, or open source projects.
• Ability to set technical direction and make architectural decisions that ensure product quality and scalability.
• Proven experience working in public and engaging with open source community contributors.
• Must be based in the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining a popular open source project or leading community engagement.
• Familiarity with agentic IDEs (e.g., Cursor) and the emerging agent-hook ecosystem.
• Experience contributing to an Open Source Program Office (OSPO).
