What you will do

• Define and drive the technical vision and architectural strategy for autonomous, multi-agent systems.
• Lead the application of state-of-the-art agentic technologies to automate complex triage workflows.
• Architect and guide the implementation of scalable agentic frameworks capable of dynamic tool use and multi-step orchestration.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate specialized AI agents into the broader Waymo Driver evaluation lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and foster innovation in agentic design patterns.
• Turn big-picture concepts into actionable roadmaps for human-on-the-loop autonomous systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on large-scale, complex systems.
• Deep expertise in AI and Machine Learning, specifically building autonomous agents and multi-agent orchestration.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs with external tools and APIs.
• Proven ability to define technical strategy and influence senior leadership.
• Strong track record of technical leadership in agent-based solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science or related field with AI/ML specialization.
• Experience with knowledge graphs and reasoning engines.
• Proficiency in C++ and production-grade service development.
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle simulation or evaluation domains.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed systems.
