Web Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States of America; full-time office work is expected for most teams.

Annual base salary: $175,400–$283,800.

What you will do

• Design and implement AI-powered tools for front-end and back-end development, code generation, refactoring, documentation, testing, accessibility, and performance optimization.
• Build automation for web production and content operations, including page creation, content ingestion, metadata generation, asset management, localization, validation, and publishing.
• Develop LLM applications, RAG solutions, AI agents, and multi-step workflows using prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, tool calling, and model evaluation.
• Create AI-powered capabilities for personalization, content recommendations, audience segmentation, SEO, experimentation, conversion optimization, and digital analytics.
• Build scalable, observable, production-ready AI services with CI/CD, automated testing, deployment pipelines, MLOps, LLMOps, monitoring, tracing, and lifecycle management.
• Translate marketing and web-operations requirements into prototypes and production implementations while collaborating with UX, content, SEO, analytics, platform engineering, cybersecurity, legal, privacy, and IT teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, AI engineering, or related technical roles, including hands-on AI application development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production-grade applications, services, and integrations.
• Experience with LLMs, Generative AI APIs, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, and RAG architectures.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, application architecture, data processing, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern web technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js, or comparable frameworks.
• Familiarity with web development workflows, CMS platforms, content publishing operations, and digital experience ecosystems.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-based application deployment.
• Understanding of application security, data privacy, responsible AI, production software quality standards, analytical problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise CMS and digital experience platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, or Contentful.
• Experience with marketing technology, digital analytics, personalization, experimentation, and customer journey optimization.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or Semantic Kernel.
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval technologies such as Weaviate, FAISS, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud AI services and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation, guardrails, observability, model monitoring, and LLMOps.
• Experience developing enterprise copilots, internal AI assistants, workflow automation tools, or multi-agent systems.
• Familiarity with semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
