Graduate Software Engineer (Linux/Security)

What you will do

• Develop and test product features, fixes, and engineering tools.
• Investigate production issues, trace root causes, and implement reliable solutions.
• Read unfamiliar code and understand interactions between system components.
• Improve automation for building, testing, and delivering software.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions while learning from experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Be a final-year student or recent graduate at the beginning of an engineering career; the role remains full-time for candidates completing their studies.
• Have practical programming skills in at least one of C, C++, Python, or Go.
• Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, and a structured problem-solving approach.
• Use AI tools to solve unfamiliar programming problems, critically assess and improve their output, and explain and test the resulting solution.
• Show curiosity, independent learning ability, persistence, care for code quality, and the ability to deliver tested solutions.
• Communicate clearly and explain technical decisions.
• English at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

• A Computer Science or related technical degree, or equivalent demonstrated project skills.
• Personal or academic software projects with explainable design decisions.
• Open-source contributions, CTF or hackathon participation, or an administered homelab.
• Evidence of independently learning a language, stack, or system in depth.
• Interest or experience in Linux, operating systems, networking, or security through coursework, research, a thesis, or personal projects.

Hiring process

• After an initial application review, selected candidates receive a personal link to an engineering challenge.
• Complete the challenge within an access window, with up to 3 hours available; the task is based on a real security-product problem and has changing requirements.
• AI tools are expected during the challenge; candidates should explain what they accept, reject, verify, and how they defend trade-offs. Strong results lead to interviews with senior engineers and HR.
