TL;DR

Health Coach (Metabolic Health): Supporting members in reversing type 2 diabetes and obesity through nutrition and behavior change coaching with an accent on evidence-based nutrition and sustainability. Focus on implementing dietary changes via chat-based coaching and utilizing motivational interviewing to drive member retention and health outcomes.

Location: Remote (USA). Must not be based in AK, HI, or RI.

Salary: $30 per hour

What you will do

  • Provide evidence-based nutrition and behavior change coaching focused on dietary sustainability.
  • Deliver personalized nutritional guidance primarily via chat-based coaching to improve metabolic health.
  • Use motivational interviewing and member-centered goal setting to ensure retention and success.
  • Collaborate with Virta Providers and the care team to deliver a seamless and safe member experience.
  • Execute clinical workflows and effectively document member interactions and progress.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and contribute to team culture and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the USA (excluding AK, HI, and RI).
  • 2+ years of experience in patient-facing roles such as nutrition counseling, community health, or metabolic health coaching.
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in a health or behavioral health field.
  • Experience with chronic condition coaching or completion of a coaching program (ideally NBHWC or ICF).
  • Strong technological literacy with proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and remote care platforms.
  • High EQ and ability to communicate empathetically and clearly through various digital modes.

Nice to have

  • Professional experience working with people living with type 2 diabetes and obesity.
  • Experience in asynchronous coaching settings.
  • Knowledge of using ketogenic or low-carb nutrition as a therapeutic approach.
  • NBC-HWC or ICF certification.
