What you will do

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits with Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.
• Submit insurance claims accurately and monitor their status through the billing life cycle.
• Review denied or unpaid claims and perform corrective actions, including resubmissions and appeals.
• Navigate payer portals and phone systems to resolve eligibility and authorization issues.
• Provide administrative support for billing operations and maintain accurate records in CRM and billing software.
• Assist patients with navigating their financial journey with compassion and clarity.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States and available to work 7:30am-4pm PT.
• 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or revenue cycle operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare privacy regulations.
• Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and billing software (e.g., Epic, XiFin, Quadax).
• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ICD and HCPCS/CPT coding.
• Experience with CMS 1500 claim forms and NUCC adjustment codes.
