TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Payments/AI): Build custom payments workflows and integrations with payment service providers to automate the contract-to-cash lifecycle with an accent on distributed systems, PSP complexity, and accurate revenue/payment handling. Focus on designing and shipping high-impact billing and payment experiences while applying AI to improve automation and day-to-day workflows.

Location: New York City, NY (5 days onsite)

Salary: $175K–$240K (offers equity)

What you will do

  • Own payments workflows and integrations supporting multiple payment service providers (PSPs).
  • Drive complex system design for frictionless billing and payment experiences across the revenue lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end contract-to-cash functionality for merchants and their customers.
  • Apply AI across product automation, business process improvement, and internal workflows while keeping financial numbers exactly right.
  • Mentor engineers, set the technical bar, and help shape engineering culture as the team grows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development with specialization in payments systems and experience with at least a couple of payment processors.
  • Experience leading big, complex system design in fast-moving, growing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with modern languages and frameworks; comfortable working in the codebase.
  • Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems with practical application to real problems.
  • Excitement for AI, including hands-on experimentation and staying current with advancements.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity during early-stage problem solving.
