What you will do

• Find and develop original local stories using social listening and community engagement.
• Script, film, produce, and edit video content for social media and digital platforms.
• Use audience metrics to guide editorial decisions and content strategy.
• Collaborate with digital, audio, and TV news teams to create innovative storytelling formats.
• Repurpose content from hirify.global News and local services into engaging social-first formats.
• Ensure all content meets hirify.global editorial, legal, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• NCTJ qualification or equivalent journalism qualification (or at least two years of professional news experience).
• Proven experience in digital storytelling and video editing (e.g., Final Cut Pro, Descript).
• Strong news judgement and passion for local journalism.
• Ability to use audience data to inform editorial strategy.
• Understanding of media law and journalistic ethics.
• Must be based in Cambridge for this office-based role.

Nice to have

• Experience with social infographics and Photoshop.
• Skills in live streaming on social platforms.
• Experience creating content across multiple platforms including radio and television.
