What you will do
- Develop and maintain the flagship Android app to serve 185M+ global chess players.
- Design and implement shared codebase architecture across the Android ecosystem to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with design, product, data analytics, and coaching teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Optimize application performance and user experience via code reviews and Android best practices.
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions to ensure platform scalability as the user base grows.
- Maintain and improve development workflows within a fully distributed team environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional Android development experience with production applications.
- Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK development.
- Experience with Android Architecture Components (ViewModels, Room, and Navigation).
- Proficiency with asynchronous programming using Coroutines or RxJava.
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger 2 or Hilt.
- Proven experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform for cross-platform development.
- Knowledge of Swift, iOS, or React Native.
- Passion for chess or professional experience in the gaming industry.
- Experience with real-time applications and multiplayer gaming architecture.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for Android.
