Cyber Security Analyst (Fintech)

Cyber Security Analyst (Cybersecurity): Supporting the SOC Manager and wider security function in a first line of defense role to safeguard organization infrastructure by monitoring and responding to incidents with an accent on SIEM management and vulnerability mitigation. What you will do

• Monitor, review, log, and escalate security incidents as part of daily SOC operations.
• Manage and configure SIEM logging and monitoring tools to identify threats and respond to alerts.
• Coordinate 2nd-line remediation of vulnerabilities in collaboration with technology teams and IT support.
• Ensure endpoint security tools (AV and EDR) are functioning correctly and maintain accurate activity records.
• Investigate phishing-related tickets and perform secure configuration reviews for desktops and laptops.
• Support security audits, certification programs, and the review of penetration tests and vulnerability scans.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in an L1 security analyst role, equivalent technical support experience, or a cybersecurity-focused degree.
• Experience securing Windows and MacOS operating systems.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint security management tools.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.
• Ability to interpret security alerts and logs with strong attention to detail.
• Must possess at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or KQL.
• Working knowledge of ITIL.
• Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft Certified: Security Fundamentals.
