QA Engineer (Embedded/Linux)

TL;DR

QA Engineer (Embedded/Linux): Ensuring the quality of the hirify.global One ARM-based computer by combining automated and hands-on hardware testing with an accent on Linux system behavior and TCP/IP networking. Focus on developing Python-based test suites, validating firmware on real devices, and analyzing system logs to resolve complex hardware-software interaction issues.

Location: Must be able to work from the London office, especially during the initial stage of the project.

hirify.global is the creator of the hirify.global Zero and is currently developing hirify.global One, a full-featured ARM-based Linux computer in a compact form factor.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for hirify.global One using Python-based frameworks.
• Validate firmware and software functionality on real hardware to identify defects.
• Create and improve test scenarios and documentation to increase overall coverage.
• Investigate Linux system behavior and analyze logs to help engineers reproduce and resolve issues.

Requirements

• Fluent English and Russian.
• Deep practical experience with Linux (shell, systemd, services, logs, networking, processes).
• Ability to write Bash scripts and use standard tools like grep, awk, sed, curl, and tcpdump.
• Strong understanding of the TCP/IP networking stack (Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, routing, sockets, etc.).
• Ability to work from the London office.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT, embedded, networking, telecom, infrastructure, or cloud systems.
• Experience with ModemManager, NetworkManager, mmcli, nmcli, QMI/MBIM, or AT commands.
