TL;DR

Head of Data Science (AI/ML): Defining and leading the data science vision to translate AI capabilities into business impact with an accent on production-grade AI solutions and scaled ML. Focus on operationalizing generative AI, foundation models, and MLOps to drive measurable business value.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in the UK and able to attend the Winchester office 1–2 days per week

Salary: Up to £115,000 + 15% bonus

What you will do

• Define and lead a forward-looking data science and AI strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Lead the development of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions that are production-ready and scalable.
• Oversee the full AI lifecycle from problem shaping through to deployment and value realization.
• Develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers.
• Drive the adoption of MLOps, model monitoring, and responsible AI governance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, translating technical complexity into clear business outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and developing data science teams to deliver measurable business value.
• Track record of delivering AI and machine learning solutions beyond technical proofs of concept.
• Deep hands-on expertise in machine learning, advanced analytics, and platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
• Practical experience taking models from experimentation to production at scale.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, Generative AI, and agentic AI.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model attending the Winchester office 1–2 days per week.
