What you will do
- Define and lead the artistic vision and visual identity for premium adult animation series.
- Direct the design team and oversee character designs, background art, concept art, storyboards, and other visual elements.
- Collaborate with storyboarding, animation, production, producers, and project managers to maintain a cohesive visual narrative.
- Review design work, provide constructive feedback, and uphold consistent quality across the production.
- Mentor artists across disciplines and lead dailies with clear, concise visual communication.
- Resolve design problems hands-on while delivering high-quality work within project schedules and budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Animation, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience as an Art Director in the animation industry.
- Expert-level understanding of art fundamentals, strong leadership, problem-solving, public-speaking, and communication skills.
- Fluency in Photoshop and a rudimentary understanding of Maya, Nuke, Premiere, and effects and surfacing software.
- Understanding of the full animation pipeline from initial sketches through final colour delivery.
- Ability to manage complex schedules, adapt to changes, and work within production timelines and budgets.
