What you will do

• Provide creative direction and leadership to the design team to ensure visual style alignment.
• Collaborate with storyboarding, animation, and production departments to maintain a unified visual narrative.
• Define artistic vision in close partnership with producers and project managers.
• Develop design strategies that respect project timelines and budget constraints.
• Lead, mentor, and provide feedback to a team of designers while fostering a positive environment.
• Oversee the creation of character designs, background art, and visual elements.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Vancouver, BC.
• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Animation, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience as an Art Director in the animation industry.
• Expert-level understanding of art fundamentals and strong problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in Photoshop with a rudimentary understanding of Maya, Nuke, and Premiere.
• Comfortable with public speaking and effective communication with clients and internal teams.
