What you will do

• Migrate legacy applications to a modern microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Develop, test, and deploy scalable backend solutions using Core Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with architects, technical leads, and cross-functional teams across the full SDLC.
• Ensure all solutions align with engineering standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior developers to improve overall team capability and code quality.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to improve software delivery and efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and Event-Driven Architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Unix/Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), TDD, and BDD.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in or able to commute to London for 8 days of onsite work per month.

Nice to have

• Experience within Financial Services or other regulated environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 / ISO 15022 messaging standards.
• Experience with Oracle, IBM MQ, and Splunk.
• Agile delivery experience.
