TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (City of London, UK) — 3 days in the office required

What you will do

  • Modernize legacy services using AI for code analysis, dependency mapping, and API extraction.
  • Implement strangler fig patterns and other proven migration approaches to replace high-impact legacy systems.
  • Build AI-powered infrastructure, including MCP servers for service discovery and architecture compliance.
  • Create AI-assisted CI/CD pipelines with automated code review, security scanning, and test generation.
  • Develop reusable AI tooling and automate workflows using Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and LLM APIs.
  • Mentor other engineers on AI-enabled workflows through documented patterns and shared learnings.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep Java backend expertise.
  • Proven track record of modernizing production systems at scale and designing microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience building with Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in production environments.
  • Experience building agentic AI solutions or AI-powered automation tools.
  • Must be based in or able to work hybridly in London (3 days per week).
