What you will do

• Define data architecture and platform strategy, leading the design of pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes.
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines supporting both batch and real-time processing.
• Implement and enforce data governance, quality standards, and compliance frameworks.
• Lead the design of data pipelines for production AI/ML systems, including embeddings, vector stores, and RAG data preparation.
• Establish data engineering standards and mentor junior and mid-level engineers to grow their craft.
• Partner with leadership to translate technical depth into actionable data strategy decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional data engineering experience leading complex platform initiatives.
• Expert proficiency in Python, Scala, and SQL.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native data platforms and enterprise data warehousing.
• Strong experience with streaming platforms and real-time processing (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
• Experience building data pipelines for production AI/ML systems (feature stores, vector stores).
• Must be based in the US or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience handling and modeling data within the healthcare industry.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate certification.
• Knowledge of data mesh, data fabric, or lakehouse architectures.
