What you will do

• Design and implement robust, testable, high-performance systems and tools in Rust.
• Optimize existing software architectures to enhance speed and efficiency.
• Participate in all development lifecycle phases, including debugging and optimization to elevate software quality.
• Lead architectural decisions and influence technical strategy across multiple teams.
• Mentor and develop senior engineers within the backend community.
• Stay current with advancements in Rust programming and security design principles.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing backend systems at scale.
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases (Postgres) and NoSQL (Elasticsearch).
• 5+ years of experience working in a microservices architecture.
• Solid architectural understanding of Rust and its language design tradeoffs.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Proven track record of mentoring senior engineering talent.

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems with a focus on reliability.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficiency with observability tooling like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Background in building information security products or applying secure coding practices.
• Production experience with Kotlin, Go, or Python.
