What you will do

• Design and build a low-latency, high-throughput data forwarding plane using Rust.
• Develop distributed, scalable systems with a focus on concurrency and fault tolerance.
• Implement and maintain gRPC-based APIs for integration with control and orchestration layers.
• Optimize system performance using profiling tools across kernel and user space.
• Collaborate on system design, technical documentation, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience with extensive Rust expertise.
• Must be based in or able to work from San Jose, CA or Bellevue, WA.
• Deep knowledge of async frameworks like Tokio or async-std.
• Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals, networking, sockets, and kernel-user space interaction.
• Experience with container-based environments, Git, and CI/CD workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with C/C++ or Go in performance-critical environments.
• Familiarity with eBPF, DPDK, or Kubernetes networking.
• Hands-on experience with L2–L4 networking protocols like TCP/IP, QUIC, or routing encapsulations.
