Salary: $295,000 - $345,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop and lead external biotech policy strategy across U.S. federal stakeholders and allied governments.
• Serve as the principal biotech policy voice with Congress, relevant agencies, and life sciences regulators.
• Translate research on frontier model biological capabilities into concrete policy proposals and public contributions.
• Drive industry-wide standards for bio-safety and safeguard adoption through collaborations with other frontier labs.
• Coordinate with national security policymakers on threat intelligence sharing and safeguard implementation.
• Build international biotech partnerships, including with Five Eyes counterparts and multilateral institutions.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance or held one in the last two years (ability to obtain/maintain required).
• Working knowledge of biotech and biosecurity policy, including regulatory pathway reform.
• Deep familiarity with U.S. biotech policy institutions (FDA, NIH, DoW, USDA, Commerce, DOE, NSC).
• Scientific fluency in biological sciences sufficient to engage with technical researchers.
• Track record of effective advocacy with biotech regulators and Congressional committees.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for briefing senior government officials.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience in biotech or biosecurity policy roles.
• Direct prior experience in biotech roles at HHS, DoW, Commerce, or NSC.
• Experience contributing to national biotech strategy frameworks.
• Experience assessing dual-use technology risks.
