Software Product Owner (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage complex product backlogs and ensure alignment with overall product strategy and technical roadmaps.
• Translate customer feedback and business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Lead SAFe/Agile ceremonies, including PI planning, iteration planning, and backlog refinement.
• Collaborate with another SPO to co-pilot priorities and decisions for a large multifunctional team.
• Balance the delivery of new features with the management of technical debt and system modernization.
• Coordinate efforts between business analysts, developers, and QA testers to ensure high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• Fluency in both French and English (written and oral) is required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Product Owner, Scrum Master, or in a similar Agile leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale backlogs (50+ items) and leading multi-team Agile efforts.
• Proficiency with Agile management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Experience or strong aptitude for actuarial science, pension plans, insurance, or financial services.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada and pass a Government of Canada Personnel Security Screening.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Knowledge of modern frontend stacks such as Angular or JavaScript.
• Prior experience working with legacy systems or actuarial architectures.
• Experience with growing or restructuring technical teams.
