What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases and database dictionaries.
• Monitor performance, analyze wait stats, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics.
• Design and manage backup, recovery, and high availability/DR strategies (e.g., AGs, log shipping).
• Perform Windows Server administration tasks including patching, scripting, and server configuration.
• Automate routine operations using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
• Enforce security through access controls, encryption, and auditing.

Requirements

• Current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain a polygraph.
• Must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC 5 days a week.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience implementing data policies, procedures, standards, and enterprise data models.
• Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS.
• Experience using NiFi for ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Exposure to DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, or Cloud platforms.
