What you will do

• Design and build the test automation framework and establish organizational standards for other engineers.
• Develop and maintain automated tests across the stack, including API, integration, and E2E UI.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure automatic execution and fast feedback on every change.
• Evaluate and apply AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, self-healing, and failure triage.
• Mentor other engineers on automation practices to raise the overall testing quality across squads.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software test automation or software engineering with a strong testing focus.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Deep experience building or owning modern automation frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Solid API testing experience and comfort with SQL and database validation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), AWS, and Docker.
• Must be based in Canada or the USA.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Claude and Claude Code.
• Experience setting up test automation from scratch in environments with little prior automation.
• Exposure to performance testing (k6, JMeter) or security testing.
• Experience in regulated or high-reliability domains such as utilities, fintech, or healthcare.
