Fall Intern (Aerospace)

TL;DR

Fall Intern (Aerospace): Contributing to the design, development, and testing of spacecraft and launch vehicle hardware with an accent on systems engineering, mechanical design, and structural analysis. Focus on validating designs through test campaigns and supporting the overall organization infrastructure.

Location: Alameda, CA. Must be a documented U.S. Person or have the ability to receive a trade license to comply with ITAR/EAR regulations.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test spacecraft and launch vehicle hardware alongside senior engineers.
• Support requirements definition, interface management, and integration for flight systems.
• Perform CAD modeling and structural/thermal design for components such as thrusters, tanks, and engine hardware.
• Conduct structural, thermal, or fluid analyses and contribute to design trade studies.
• Participate in test campaigns including vibration, thermal-vacuum, and propulsion performance tests.
• Prepare engineering drawings, test reports, and design documentation to industry standards.

Requirements

• Must be an incoming Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at a 4-year institution or community college.
• Hands-on project experience from internships, research, or senior design projects.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions (ITAR/EAR).
