Mission Payload Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Must be based in Los Angeles, CA

Salary: $100,000 - $135,000

What you will do

• Manage payload integration across the full satellite lifecycle from proposal to on-orbit commissioning.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for commercial customers and partners.
• Define and negotiate complex payload interfaces including mechanical, electrical, software, and power.
• Develop and execute payload interface verification and validation plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts with vehicle engineering, avionics, and AI&T teams.
• Represent the company in critical design reviews and verification milestones.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in the aerospace or space industry.
• 2+ years of technical project management or systems engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, or airborne systems.
• Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary satellite payload interfaces.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in the aerospace or space industry.
• Direct experience working with commercial customers.
• Hands-on spacecraft integration and environmental testing experience.
