Head of Data (AI)

Location: In-office (five days a week) in London or San Francisco. Candidates must live within a 60-minute commute.

What you will do

• Map high-priority data use cases and identify critical data problems across product, supply chain, commercial, and finance functions.
• Design and build targeted pipelines connecting ERP, HRIS, Android/app telemetry, and bespoke trackers into a coherent data layer.
• Own the end-to-end architecture, including writing code and selecting modern, lightweight tooling.
• Develop a pragmatic build sequence to solve business problems without over-engineering.
• Establish data standards, quality controls, and documentation to ensure data is usable across the organization.
• Ensure the data foundation is capable of powering internal company brains and agentic workflows.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on engineering skill in building data pipelines and writing code.
• Proven track record in complex environments such as hybrid hardware/software companies or scaling fintechs.
• Fluency in modern agentic and LLM workflows and understanding of AI data requirements.
• Strong commercial instincts to frame technical work in terms of decisions enabled and revenue generated.
• Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor without a direct team.
• Experience integrating disparate systems including ERP, HRIS, and mobile telemetry.
