Content Pipeline Engineer (Unity): Building and maintaining sophisticated tools and automation to streamline the journey of game content from art authoring tools into the live game with an accent on Unity editor tooling and DCC integration. Focus on designing robust import pipelines, optimizing content for mobile performance, and bridging the gap between artistic vision and technical implementation.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Leamington Spa, UK (Hybrid)

An award-winning mobile and VR game studio based in Leamington Spa, currently developing an ambitious new title.

What you will do

  • Design and maintain custom Unity Editor tools, including inspectors and property drawers to improve artist workflows.
  • Develop export tools for DCC packages like Maya, 3ds Max, and Blender to ensure validated, game-ready content.
  • Build and maintain import pipelines using custom importers, the Asset Database, and serialization systems.
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to define content standards and automated validation rules.
  • Profile and optimize content for memory, draw calls, and load times using Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger.
  • Support the integration of shaders, materials, and VFX within the Universal Render Pipeline (URP).

Requirements

  • Professional experience in building art pipelines and custom editor tools within Unity.
  • Deep expertise in Unity Engine architecture, including ScriptedImporters and Addressables.
  • Proven experience scripting and automating DCC tools using Python, MEL, or MaxScript.
  • Solid understanding of the Unity rendering stack, including URP, Shader Graph, and HLSL.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical team members.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Leamington Spa, UK.
