Senior Software Engineer, DevOps

Location: Remote in Canada; listed locations include Ontario, Toronto, and Waterloo, Ontario.

What you will do

• Design, maintain, and improve scalable CI/CD pipelines for software build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Design and support highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes, including orchestration, monitoring, scaling, and lifecycle management.
• Improve infrastructure security, observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, product, and operations teams on platform strategy and cloud-native application delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience architecting, building, and supporting highly scalable software and infrastructure solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Production experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure and modern CI/CD practices.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, multi-tenancy, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, networking, and cloud and application security.
• Knowledge of .NET Core/.NET Framework, Java, and JavaScript, plus experience solving complex technical challenges in large-scale distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Cloud certifications in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with enterprise Kubernetes platforms, highly available cloud architectures, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with OAuth, WS-Security, encryption in transit and at rest, Agile development, Jira, and modern software delivery toolchains.
• Experience supporting large-scale SaaS products and cloud-native platforms.
