Test Engineer Co-Op

TL;DR

Test Engineer Co-Op (QA/Automation): Contributing to software testing for a product platform by writing test plans and cases, preparing datasets, isolating and tracking defects, and verifying code fixes with an accent on agile QA execution and CI/CD test pipeline troubleshooting. Focus on developing and debugging test automation code and ensuring high-quality releases through collaboration with engineers, designers, and product managers.

Location: Remote (U.S. state). Must be authorized to work in the United States and reside in a U.S. state; no visa sponsorship.

Salary: $23–$27 (min–max rate)

What you will do

• Act as a quality advocate in an agile scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Analyze requirements and discuss testability and design considerations to deliver high-quality software.
• Write test plans and test cases for user stories (with some guidance) and prepare datasets for testing logic, error handling, and workflows.
• Isolate, reproduce, and track defects; verify code changes and fixes.
• Develop, debug, and test automation code; monitor CI/CD test pipelines and troubleshoot test failures.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, designers, and product managers.

Requirements

• Work authorization: authorized to work in the United States and reside in a U.S. state; unable to sponsor or take over employment visa sponsorship.
• Experience with manual testing of web applications in a browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE).
• Some knowledge of programming and scripting with Python, Java, or Go.
• Some knowledge of database interaction (e.g., MongoDB and SQL).
• Experience in a Macintosh or Linux environment.
• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field; 0–2 years of related experience.
