hirify.global is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility.

What you will do

  • Lead and grow the GNC engineering team in Munich, providing technical direction and mentorship.
  • Define the technical strategy and roadmap for GNC efforts in alignment with global leadership.
  • Design and implement flight control algorithms for novel VTOL aircraft.
  • Review technical designs, requirements, and test plans.
  • Build and improve simulations to verify system requirements and analyze flight data.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering and Systems Safety to optimize the Flight Control System.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineering teams and setting technical direction.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and classical/modern control theory.
  • Educational background: BS (12+ years exp), MS (8+ years exp), or PhD (6+ years exp) in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Must be authorized to work in Germany; no visa sponsorship provided.

Nice to have

  • Experience with rotorcraft performance, envelope protection, or system identification.
  • Knowledge of trajectory generation and optimization algorithms.
  • Flight testing experience with piloted or autonomous aircraft.
  • Piloting experience (aircraft or rotorcraft).
  • Experience managing engineering teams within a regulated aerospace or automotive environment.
