Salary: $435,000 - $450,000

What you will do

• Own the full FIN engineering function, ensuring the correctness and reliability of claims ingestion, adjudication, and payment movements.
• Establish high engineering quality bars and validation standards, focusing on automating manual toil and prioritizing high-value work.
• Maintain technical leadership by participating in design reviews, reading code, and resolving critical incidents.
• Drive the transition to AI-native engineering by building harnesses and validation frameworks to enable autonomous shipping.
• Guide the backend architecture toward event-driven boundaries to ensure fault tolerance and scalability for millions of claims.
• Hire, develop, and manage Engineering Managers and senior individual contributors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating high-scale, high-reliability backend systems, preferably involving financial data.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including experience managing other managers.
• Deep proficiency in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, AWS, and API design.
• Experience handling sensitive regulated data including PHI, PII, and financial information.
• Must be based in or able to work from the New York City office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
• Strong perspective on implementing agent-first and AI-native engineering operating models.
