What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical components for medical devices using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo).
• Create plastic injection molded parts and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Perform CAE simulations including FEA, CFD, and mold flow to verify design elements.
• Generate 2D engineering drawings according to ASME Y14.5 standards and process Engineering Change Orders.
• Conduct product failure investigations, root cause analyses, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Collaborate with Human Factors and Project Management to implement usability and preference attributes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of related industry experience with a track record of successful project completion.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Creo.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, adhesives).
• Must be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Medical Device or regulated industry.
• Proficiency with ANSYS for Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience with PLM/PDM software, specifically Windchill.
• Knowledge of body-worn electronic design for textiles and soft goods.
• Practical experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
