Senior Data Engineer (Python/SQL)

Location: Fully onsite in Malaysia, Singapore, or China

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and support production ETL, streaming, and batch data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Industrialize data feeds and maintain layered data warehouse architecture for reporting, dashboards, product analytics, and data science.
• Act as the engineering point of contact for business stakeholders, gathering requirements and delivering data solutions.
• Ensure data architecture, quality, and SLA commitments meet business and reporting needs.
• Manage concurrent pipeline projects and migrations from scoping through delivery.
• Partner with backend and platform engineers during source-system migrations to validate pipelines and prevent data loss or SLA breaches.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines at scale.
• Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills.
• Knowledge of PySpark, Presto, Airflow, ETL, and layered data warehousing patterns.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to analyze and simplify complex data problems for business and technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder communication, prioritization, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
