What you will do
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for the Portugal-based Platform Engineering & Infrastructure team.
- Coordinate execution across compute, storage, virtualization, Kubernetes, and private cloud environments.
- Lead incident response, change management, and network/infrastructure event management to ensure minimal business impact.
- Drive modernization through Infrastructure as Code, automation frameworks, and standardized CI/CD workflows.
- Mentor engineers, support team growth, and build engineering capability within the local organization.
- Partner with global teams including Network Engineering, Security, and Production Operations to align protocols and root-cause analyses.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure operations, or DevOps.
- Proven experience leading technical teams in an infrastructure environment.
- Solid working knowledge of Linux, compute, virtualization, and OpenStack or equivalent private cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (Rancher, OpenShift, or upstream) in production.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools like Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
- Experience supporting 24x7 production operations in globally distributed organizations.
