What you will do

• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures for public sector clients.
• Deploy and manage cloud resources using IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop automated provisioning and monitoring processes via CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimise cloud resource usage and implement load balancing and caching solutions.
• Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Mentor junior colleagues and manage their overall technical performance and growth.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a cloud engineering role with a track record of deploying cloud services.
• Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms, specifically AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong foundation in modern software engineering practices and multiple programming languages.
• Eligibility for SC clearance (requires 5 years continuous UK residency and employment history).

Nice to have

• Experience working in a technology consultancy environment.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Security Engineer).
• Knowledge of UK public sector guidance such as NCSC’s CAF and the Technology Code of Practice.
• Familiarity with Python, Bash, and JavaScript.
• Experience with TDD and Agile practices (Scrum, XP, Kanban).
