Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Driving product security improvements across the SSDLC and supporting compliance efforts with an accent on threat modeling, security reviews, and security architecture assessments. Location: Remote or Hybrid in Berlin, Germany. Must be willing to subject yourself to the S2 security screening (Sicherheitsüberprüfung) of the German Government.

What you will do

• Drive product security improvements across the SSDLC and support global compliance efforts.
• Perform threat modeling, security reviews, and security architecture assessments.
• Implement and optimize security controls for application security, cloud, CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Engineering and Product teams to enable secure-by-design decisions.
• Monitor and analyze security events and incidents, responding promptly to mitigate threats.
• Develop and maintain scripting and automation for security controls and operations.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software, product, or application security.
• Proven expertise in threat modeling, secure architecture design, and cryptographic protocols.
• Hands-on experience implementing security within a DevOps environment.
• Deep understanding of modern environments including web, backend, mobile, APIs, cloud, and containers.
• Willingness to undergo the S2 security screening of the German Government (SÜG).
• English proficiency level C1.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in German.
• Experience with telecommunications or messaging security.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC2, CIS, NIST, or GDPR.
