TL;DR

Lead Internal Auditor (Finance): Leading and delivering risk-based internal audits to ensure organizational resilience and compliance with an accent on finance and operational areas. Focus on supervising junior auditors, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and embedding data analytics into audit workflows.

Location: Hybrid (London or Newbury, UK); requires office attendance 2-3 days per week (minimum 8 days per month).

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end risk-based audits from planning to reporting, with a focus on finance and operational areas.
  • Supervise and coach junior auditors to ensure high standards of engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders to ensure audit processes and recommendations are valued.
  • Identify, analyze, and document audit issues, providing practical recommendations for business improvement.
  • Own and present audit workflows and milestones to senior stakeholders.
  • Embed data analytics into audit approaches to drive continuous improvement and add value.

Requirements

  • Relevant accounting or audit qualifications (e.g., ACA, CIMA, IIA).
  • Must be based in the UK to support hybrid working in London or Newbury.
  • Excellent English communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in internal audit, preferably within Telco, Tech, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in digital audit tools and Microsoft Office 365.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the Telecommunications or Technology sectors.
  • Specific knowledge of Finance and Billing processes.
