Security Platform Engineer - Microsegmentation (Cybersecurity)

Location: NSW, Australia; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote

What you will do

• Build, configure, operate, and continuously enhance the enterprise microsegmentation platform.
• Analyse application communication flows and create least-privilege segmentation policies for critical workloads and high-value assets.
• Integrate segmentation telemetry with SIEM and network security tools to improve visibility and support detection of policy violations and lateral movement.
• Align enterprise microsegmentation with network-layer segmentation and Zero Trust strategies across enterprise and telecommunications networks.
• Develop operational documentation, standards, runbooks, and governance models while monitoring segmentation coverage and control gaps.
• Automate application flow mapping, policy creation, validation, and deployment through reusable tooling and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in network security, workload security, or platform engineering with exposure to network segmentation.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise microsegmentation platforms such as Illumio, Guardicore, Cisco Secure Workload, or ColorTokens Xshield in large-scale production environments.
• Strong knowledge of network security, segmentation, Zero Trust, workload isolation, least-privilege access, and enterprise networking.
• Experience analysing application and network traffic flows, troubleshooting policy issues, and producing technical documentation and runbooks.
• Experience with SIEM integrations, telemetry pipelines, Python or Bash scripting, and CI/CD or configuration-as-code practices.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Cisco TrustSec, Juniper, or Palo Alto network device segmentation technologies.
• Experience in telecommunications, critical infrastructure, or financial services environments.
