Security Platform Engineer (Microsegmentation): Designing and implementing enterprise microsegmentation capabilities to strengthen network security and reduce lateral movement risks with an accent on policy enforcement and traffic flow analysis. Focus on building security infrastructure from the ground up, integrating with SIEM platforms, and automating policy deployment within a large-scale telecommunications environment.
Location: Must be based in NSW, Australia. Role is hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

What you will do
- Build, configure, and operate the enterprise microsegmentation platform to deliver effective security controls.
- Analyze application communication flows to define and maintain least-privilege segmentation policies.
- Integrate segmentation telemetry with SIEM platforms to enhance visibility of suspicious activity.
- Partner with network and security architecture teams to align segmentation with Zero Trust strategies.
- Develop automation for flow mapping, policy creation, and CI/CD pipelines for deployment.
- Maintain platform health, perform upgrades, and support incident response through policy analysis.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network security, workload security, or platform engineering.
- Proven experience with enterprise microsegmentation platforms like Illumio, Guardicore, or Cisco Secure Workload.
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust principles, enterprise networking, and workload isolation.
- Experience with SIEM integrations, scripting (Python/Bash), and configuration-as-code practices.
- Ability to analyze network traffic flows and troubleshoot complex policy issues.
